Hi Derek,

I have a related problem.

Checkout the power on the right hand side.

I have had a quick look at this, and have identified a code loop that doesn't entirely make sense to me so I have done a quick and dirty "fix" (in latest unstable version). Hopefully this hasn't created another issue.

The more that I look at the diesel engine code, the more I am convinced that it may need a bit of work.

For example each of the diesel engines has a ramp up and down time, so I am assuming that this somehow should impact upon the amount of tractive effort available, however I can't see the relevant changes in the MotiveForce values.

Similarly when multiple heading with different diesels, then the application of motive power will be at different rates depending upon the time for the prime mover to ramp up or down.

Anyway needs some more thought, and a job for the New Year.

Thanks

I will test and let you know by words or pictures.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Hi Peter,

12.24 gives these errors on the same activity as previous.
See attached.

I have to go back to 12.17.

Can you expand on the errors or symptoms that you are getting.

Can you also send me the ENG file for UP C40-8 9183?

Thanks

The problem is a lockup and crash to desktop.
Happens on loading a saved activity.

I had 2 other of these lockups, but going back to the previous save, I was able to continue.
But the 3rd lockup I could not get past, the crash above.

Sorry, I meant the SLI BNSF 8-40B 8621. The one in the log that shows zero powers.

The only thing that I can think of is that there is a parameter that it requires when resumes/reloads the activity. Certainly bnsf_8_40b_8621 doesn't appear to reload correctly when the activity reloads in the log file that you supplied.

Can you do some other tests with the latest unstable version as follows:

i) Start the activity from scratch, and post the log file.

ii) Save and resume/reload the activity - post resulting log file.

iii) If bnsf_8_40b_8621 appears to still be giving some problems, can you build a simple activity with just bnsf_8_40b_8621 and repeat the above two steps. If this causes the same type of crash, then package activity and send to me for further debugging.

Thanks

1 and 2 done.

I can't see where 8621 is a problem?
