I've created a blueprint proposing that briefings for a timetable and for each train within the timetable can be provided.

They would appear in both Menu.exe and in-game in the F1 Help Window. An experiment looked like this:

The timetable I'm using is provided by Rick Loader for his New Forest route and I'm looking forward to it being finally ready and published.

10 months later, I have got around to adding this feature to the Unstable version and, if approved, then to the Testing version.

Please give it a try - instructions are in the manual.

Here it is as part of Demo Model 1 - for which Rob Roeterdink created an extensive timetable:

Very pleasant addition, I think.
As I understand, this is added to "start time" statement?

An additional row is added to the timetable, tagged #briefing in the first timetable column. Briefing text is added to a single cell, and can be wrapped in the spread sheet format controls. Multiple lines can be displayed in game by the _
_ line break command. (where _ is a white space separating
from the text.)
I have tested this , and it is a splendid addition. In large timetables even the compiler needs to be reminded of the task, and those unfamiliar can be baffled, not knowing what to do next..
Thanks Chris!

Excuse my unclear explanation, I meant the appearance of briefing-section at ORTS Menu
(I actually commented the screenshot, that Chris posted)

Well... I'll wait an opportunity to test it

Just discover it now. Going to test it, since I have a timetable with more than 100 trains :)
This is wonderfull. I've been expecting this feature for quite some time.
Many thanks cjakeman

cjakeman.
Any possibility of Writing the briefing in a UNICODE text file and have the timetable get that file the same way it gets the consist and path file for example?

That's OK. It was Rick's idea I believe.

Since a player's train has to replicate an AI train, perhaps we need Work Orders too, so that wagons can be picked up and dropped off as expected by the timetable.

What do you think?
