I don't know if there's something I overlooked, or a terrible assumption of mine. (It shouldn't be a physics issue. I upgraded all the files using the packages in the Train-Sim file library.)
I've been trying some switching scenarios lately, and I've been having problems. It's a struggle to move short cuts around the yard. While I don't expect a GP35 or GP38-2 to walk away with a intermodal train, I do expect them to be fine hauling just a few freight cars, but it always seems I have to throttle up to move anything more than one car.
Could someone teach me the proper methodology for switching cuts of cars in Open Rails so I don't have to struggle so hard? Or tell me where I messed up?
Edit: Also posting this to T-S. Forgive me if it's seen twice by some.

Use the F5 HUD brake display to see condition of the train brakes!
You must perform all the steps required in the real world to move a cut of cars; Connect hose, open/close angle cocks, pump up air ect.
There IS a shortcut but I'll let you look that up (and much more) in the OR Manual.
Access the Manual, a searchable PDF document from the OR opening screen, dow near the bottom press the [Documents] button.

vince

Besides connecting the Air Hose and Opening the Angle Cocks,
check, and release ALL the Handbrakes on the Cut of Cars.

Adam Savage: Well, there's you're problem!
Yep, I forgot to do that. I figured out all the angle cock stuff just fine, but I failed to release the handbrakes. Which was very idiotic of me, because handbrakes are a useful tool.
Hope the car knockers don't give me a hard time.
Thanks.
