Use of weather files in timetable mode

Weather files allow definition of variable weather for a full day. There are three possible weather types : clear, precipitation (rain or snow) and fog. Weather files are text files in JSON format, with file extention weather-or, and must be stored in the route directory (new subdirectory weatherfiles).
The required weather file can be selected from the main menu. Selection is optional - if not selected, the normal default weather is used.

Aside from the question of available programming resources to change code, is there anything about this neat new feature that would prohibit the weather file from being tied to specific non-timetable activities by means of adding a reference to the desired file in an .act file?

I was just thinking that what Rob created is both sophisticated and comprehensive and as such duplication in the OR code might be appropriate so as to implement an identical feature set in the two ways activities can be defines.

Wait a minute: I guess, I understood, what You did mean...
The precise "day of the year"'s timings for astronomic events?
This way, the task will be just to have an opportunity of specifying the proper date at activity, or choose it during TT-options setting before game launching... In other words, more thin gradation, than present Four-seasonal?
I've seen somewhere the topic, where the Star-Calculator capabilities for using in ORTS were discussed.

Is it possible to fix this?

The weather code is split between default behaviour (which has a random wind component) and weather file behaviour (which currently cannot specify wind), hence a weather file always has zero wind right now
Although I am working on the wind code, I am not currently touching the separate weather file code, but it would make sense to consolidate these two separate behaviours in the future, and to add wind to weather files
