I ws wondering if there is a way to scale objects when placing them with TSRE would be a big help to make things slightly differnt for rows of trees, etc. thanks

I've got my doubts. Size of objects is effectively hard coded into .s files. Not even the mighty TSRE can change that. But, I think forest objects can have variable tree sizes if that's an option for you

Shape File Manager lets you scale things. It re-scales the object and creates a backup copy of the original. Forests can be tweaked in the forests.dat file to make more random sizes, as well.
