This is why I say we need an option for multiple whistles/Horns for locomotives in Open Rails. A thought I had was do like a shift Spacebar or Ctrl Spacebar to change the whistles/Horns from one to the other.

Something like this could also be very useful for equipment with quillable horns like modern American passenger locomotives, or European locomotives with two-tone horns. Gets around having to use the sander or windshield wiper keybinds to play the "alternate" horn.

Exactly my point and a lot of North American Steam Locomotives have multiple whistles and even air horns on them! I don't think it would be too hard to set up and program either. I mean right now we are having to make multiple SMS files just for one locomotive to play multiple whistles/horns and would be great just to have it all in one. At least for me that is because a lot of the locomotives that I play with have an option for a second whistle/horn or have more then two so I think this would be a huge bonus for many if it could be done.

In my own code of ORTS i have create a second horn (a merge of the normal horn).

So i can use 2 horns with TCS (alerter) reset like real.

But i know that newer locomotives have electronic horns too, i have see this on german locomotive.

SHIFT + SPACEBAR

2 normal horn buttons for standard, and "bell" button for a 3nd horn maybe?


So if there is interest for add this second horn, i wil share that code with Carlo or person of ORTS that add this horn.

Outside of steamers, this also would be useful for locomotives like CB&Q 9911A, which has a Wabco E2(or a Leslie A200, not sure), and a Leslie RS-2
