It's January 4, 1941 K-37 490 & helper engine 492 depart Gunnison 6:35 AM with 55 loads 2 empties.

Crew:
Conductor Rhodes
Engine 490 C Wilson
Engine 492 Trusscott

Consist: 52 coal & 3 sheep

Empties: 1 box & a caboose

As the train climbs the hill...

... it pulls into Sargent at 8:55 AM.

After setting out most of the train, getting the 493 (engineer W L Wilson) on the train, & time for the crew to eat & condition the engines, the train departs Sargent 9:55 AM with 18 loads 2 empties.

After 1 hour 10 minutes helper engines off, pick up 18 loads, and inspection the 490 departs Marshall Pass 12:35 PM with 36 loads 2 empties.

... it sets out 7 loads of coal & the empty boxcar at Mears Junction.
