The buffers are also modelled with the moving parts separeted in hopes one day we might take advantage of an animation.
Can you do a video of the train moving and looking down at the chain?

I am wondering if the buffers could be attached to the chain animation, as it should move backwards and forwards a bit.

But my next question is: why do the animated parts disapear when the wagons are disconnected from train?

At the moment they haven't been set up on static consists.

Hi Peter.

Got that video that you asked.

anim coupler- top view

I dont think the buffers should move with the chain... the problem i see here is that the chain should be moving along a two point restriction: between the two hooks. And the buffers move just back and forth. the chain should also rotate sideways with the hook being pivot. Also, the buffers should alsyas be tothether withn the limits of compression...

Thanks for that.

Part of my concern is that if we have lots of different coupling mechanisms across different countries, I don't think that it is practical to add them all to OR, unless they can be done in a common way with the use of different animation shapes.

Anyway, I will have a look at it and give it some thought (however it might take some time as I have a few other projects on the go at the moment).

In the meantime, can you send me the trainset and CON file that you are using so that I can run it in my development environment.

Hello.

@Aldarion
I don’t think disappearing is a problem with some items, in fact. The lock light seen in the video is especially good. However, not for brake hoses or screw clamps.
I wonder how he solved the disappearance. I tried to solve it, but it didn't get that good.

Hello.

I have a motor car with an A'2 axle layout, 0-2-4, if I wrote it right.
My question is, will it be as good as the snippet? I have concerns about the ORTSNumAxles and ORTSNumberAxles applications. Code snippet for the Wagon section:
Wagon (
	ORTSLengthBogieCentre ( 9,1m )		Comment ( " hossza a forgóváz központok között " )
	ORTSLengthCarBody ( 15.37m ) Comment ( " Ütközők közötti hossz, később talán ütköző hüvelyvégek közötti hossz " )
	ORTSLengthCouplerFace (	15.47m )	Comment ( " kinyújtott csavarkapocs középtől kinyújtott csavarkapocs középig " )
	ORTSNumAxles ( 3 )			Comment ( " az autó tengelyeinek száma. " )
	ORTSNumBogies ( 1 )			Comment ( " forgóvázak száma az autóban. " )
	ORTSWheelFlangeLength ( 0,02m ) Comment ( " A kerékperem hossza a karima hossza a maximális peremszög kezdetétől kezdve egészen addig a pontig, ahol a karima szöge 26,6 fokra csökken." )
	ORTSMaximumWheelFlangeAngle ( 35deg )	Comment ( " A kerékperem szögét úgy határozzák meg, mint a kerékperem maximális szögét a vízszintes tengelyhez képest. " )

	ORTSNumberAxles ( 2 )
)

The engine part for the drive is:
Engine (
	ORTSNumberDriveAxles ( 1 )
	ORTSDriveWheelWeight ( 9t )
)

Thank you in advance for your patience.

Best regards Laci 1959

Hi,
You probably mean a car like this.

https://de-academic.com/pictures/dewiki/77/M_120_5_Zg.JPG
Then the parameters are OK.

Almost. I could have included the character drawing in the first post as well.

The drive and wagon axles when added together should not exceed the total number of axles in the car.

Yes, I am aware of that. The question would have been that if you have "ORTSNumAxles (3)", you should have "ORTSNumberAxles (2)" next to it ??
"ORTSNumAxles" is the number of all axes for gliding. But then why should "ORTSNumberAxles" which is the number of running wheels? In addition, this shape file is already separated by animated and non-animated axes. This is what I learned on your website.
