Hi,
@Rick : Great screenshots :) .... but it would be helpful if you could identify which products contain the various items of rolling stock (or, maybe, we should purchase all the PRR packs!!).
@Vince : Many thanks - the route looks fantastic! I am a full member of trainsim.com and downloaded it in about 28 minutes using ADSL (my ISP doesn't provide fibre connections in this area - yet!).
Cheers,
Ged

For starters, the GG1s are freeware! Over at trainsim.com, I’ll post more information later, I did return to my chores, I’m now scrubbing mold off the deck...

Hi Ged,
So, here's the roster
PRR #1 - PRR Passenger Equipment Pack (2008). This is the only set that includes passenger equipment. Alco PAs and EMD E8s for motive power. This set also has three bonus sets with additional motive power and passenger cars.
PRR #2 - PRR Freight Equipment Pack (2008). This includes pretty much every freight locomotive that BLW had available for PRR in 2008. Alco C425, C630, FA/B1, FA/B2, RS1, 3 different styles of RS3 (Helpers, Passenger, Freight), RS11, S1, S2, S4, T6, EMD F7A/B. A small assortment of freight cars and cabins.
PRR #3 - PRR Pack 3 (2010) This set was created to fill in some other locomotive types that had not been available in 2008: EMD F3A/B, FP7 (red and green versions), Alco C628, RS27, RSD5, RSD7, RSD12, RSD15 S3. A bonus was later released with A-B-A sets of EMD E7, E8 and Alco PA1 in the 'as-delivered' five stripe green livery.
PRR #4 - PRR 1950 Pack (2013) If I was going to pick ONE set, this is the one I would pick. This pack include locomotives and rolling-stock researched specifically for the PRR in 1950. We created MANY PRR specific freight cars, and also included locomotives and cars from other railroads that are part of the PRR-ER route (Baltimore & Ohio, Central Railroad of New Jersey, Lehigh Valley, Reading Railroad). It was created for activity building. There is one bonus for this set - the Baldwin 'Centipede'.
One other thing to note. Unfortunately, there are some other common locomotives that appeared only in 'locomotive sets' as opposed to 'railroad sets'. These are mostly for EMD hoods, starting with GP7/9. If you are recreating the PRR in the early 1950s, many of the models in these sets did not exist (GP30, Gp35, SD35, etc)
FREEWARE:
- GG1 Megaset (trainsim.com) - Created using Dick Cowen's GG1 kit - filename zt-gg1m2.zip
- 75' TTX Flats (trainsim.com) - Created using Lou Volland's models - filename zt75tofc-1.zip
- MSTS Fictional PRR-NH 'Senator' TurboTrain (trainsim.com)- Model by William Alder. filenames senator3.zip, BOMB_JET.ZIP for sounds

Hi Rick,
Many thanks for the list of the required rolling stock packs :)
It appears that the only one I haven't purchased is the PRR Pack 3, so that's now on the priority list!
Cheers,
Ged

Good morning Ladies and Gentleman,
I'm glad you are enjoying the route. It was a bunch of fun to have an editor that was able to bring it up to today's standards without the constant worry of crashing and slagging the work. Thanks to Goku for that and to all the members of the community for providing much needed assistance to finally roll it out on the main.
The rolling stock distributed was all the rolling stock that I had that was included in the original beta test release and all the stock that was in the various versions of the route as I stitched it all together to assemble something that I was able to clean up the many database glitches. I had no idea where the stock came from only that it was in the route when I got it.
A quick break dabbling in Skyrim this time running as a Breton. Previous runs were a Dark Elf then a Nord. (the Nords political leanings seem to resemble certain factions in play in the real world.http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/goodnight.gifEnuf of that.
So enjoy and for anyone so inclined there are still things to do! I never got the Transfer Table working in the Jersey City / Elizabethport area. That's the missing transfer table message you'll see in the OpenRailLog.txt file.
A terrain spill at Coatsville on the Harrisburg line is a bug. In the editor (TSRE) is looks perfect but in the Sim there is a Transfer over the track and a large depression, read 'hole', under the tracks. Tile problem probably. Someone I'm sure will come up with a replacement Tile file here.
Dynamic Shadows on everywhere you can see from 'on-the-train', Frame rate hit in crowded areas (Philly, where I did cut back on the shadows a bit)I did make sure to compress everything possible to get the d/l size reasonable.
Regards and enjoy.
It was a fun build with none of the stress worrying about the buggy MSTS thing.
And regarding MSTS; I was able to run an activity although with no static consists and no AI traffic if run in an non-urban area. The 'Test' activity.
MSTS positively pukes when confronted with 4000 objects. Oh well, it got things started but I consider that code to resemble the starter crank on a Model T Ford. A beginning but now not much fun running a slide show. And besides, when I crank up MSTS it re-arranges all the icons (many) on my desktop. That being said I'll never run that Sim ever again.
You were a great start but now it's R.I.P. http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/cheers3.gifMy heart truly goes out to those who refuse to consider Open Rails.
Regards,vince
