Of all the route I own, there is only one that causes "hungs", "out of memory exceptions" and certain crashes 50% of the time.

Atm, I'm still using XP 32bit with 2GB of RAM. That was until my motherboard died and I got a temporary replacement board with 4GB of RAM. I'm due to get my new Win10 PC in a few months.

Using the 3GB switch for LAA, seems to have cured my "out of memory exceptions" for this route, however, I still get render Hung and other crashes.

Below is a recent crash I still get on the route. I will post further logs if the crash causes a different meaning!

Normally, I can fix most errors, but these crashes have got me stumped!

Can anyone enlighten me on the meaning of "A virtual wheel axle was added for bogie xxx" repeated very many times in the log attached to the above post.

Here is another one. Crash after 25 minutes of a 35 minute activity. Looks like I was wrong about "out of memory" errors. Plenty of these errors. Also I was monitoring the RAM at the time of crash, over 1GB still available. This crash has to a be a virtual address problem!

Many UK 4 wheel wagons for MSTS were built with two single axle bogies for proper tracking round curves. Open Rails requires two axles per bogie so adds a virtual axle to each single axle bogie it finds.

Coolhand, have you tried using the Monogame version, that needs significantly less RAM?

Not using the XP 3GB switch and un-ticking the LAA, allowed me to finish the above activity twice. There were a couple of "out of memory" exceptions but no crashes :-

I'm hoping all these problems will be a thing of the past when I finally get a new PC with Win10 and using OR 64bit!

Thanks

I will definitely be using the MG version, once I have my new PC with Win10. As I understand, the MG version cannot be used on 32bit XP?

Thanks

Sorry, I oversaw that you are using an XP computer. No, the MG version doesn't work with XP.

A long delay in responding!

I am still seeing very many instances of this in UK stock. Do the single axle bogies cause any problem in running OR?

Sorry David, I do not know the answer, but a similar problem extends to other vehicles.

6-wheeled carriages and wagons are often built with two bogies for the same reason. One bogie has two axles, but the other has only one axle - so the same problem happens.

Also with driving trailers / auto-trailers / push-pull trailers - to drive these need to be eng files. They have only non powered axles, but putting zero powered axles into OR produces an error message in the log file, but I do not know if it has any impact on performance.
