I hit a snag, but found the solution.



Ok I opened Windows Explorer and selected to view date_last_accessed.

Ran my route end to end. Opened explorer no change to the dates yikes!!!


Did a web search and found that some older machines had this option disabled to minimize disk writes. My train computer is (Dell 788 running win 7).


The solution was to (1) determine if the function was disabled.

Open command prompt as admin. Type C:/> fsutil behavior query disablelastaccess


it returned DisableLastAccess = 1


Then (2) to change this Type C:/> fsutil behavior set disablelastaccess 0


Reboot and then the sorting by Daves suggestion worked great.
