Does anyone know the definition of the CMT switch shown in the cab of the SD75M diesel locomotive? I've not had any luck in researching this term in various railroading sources. Thanks.

Sorry but I can't figure out how to attach a pic. The switch in question is mounted on the dashboard of the cab, right above the train brake handle.

Hmmmmm... I was hoping it’s location might ring a bell but nothing is coming to mind.

Attaching an image is a little tricky. You must use the full message editor, select your image, and then click another button to actually attach it (I'm using the mobile version which doesn't have that function).

What does this button look like? The only button I can find above the auto brake lever is an EOT emergency brake switch, which is on a small red panel and has a red safety cover

The location of that EOT switch is also dependent on the cab layout of the locomotive. Earlier versions would have had analog gauges and a separate head end box mounted on the control stand for the EOT. Later version had the FIRE screens with the EOT switch mounted as described above. If the later, I wonder if someone had an external switch mounted to preform a comm test on the EOT without the need to cycle through the FIRE screen menus. Just a thought.

In any locomotive the CMT switch is the Country Music Television switch that is available to entertain the crew while waiting for the slow freights.

That's a good one Gerry (the thought occured to me, too), but if that's all that on the radio - or TV - I think I'll wait outside. Never could stand much of the stuff

I'm sorry you feel that way....it actually stands for "Crew Members Toilet" - it's an emergency flush switch just in case.
I'm searching for an answer, just have not found it yet, now I am intrigued...I know someone visiting this thread will know, with the store of knowledge around this place.
