Can anyone tell me why the attached loco and tender are sometimes showing and sometime not showing as traffic in an Open Rails activity. I can be watching the consist and see the disappear/appear/disappear. When they are not showing there is a large steam cloud. The log file is also attached.

I have still not been able to resolve this problem. If you look carefully at the attached screenshot you will see a rake of wagons approaching with a cloud of steam at the front where the loco and tender should be.

The only thing I can think of is somehow these models have funky LODs

One other "symptom". I saved the activity to have it take the screenshot. When I loaded that activity to continue running it, the loco and tender were visible.

I'm curious, what's your video card specs. That behavior sounds like a video card cannot meet the demands in specific areas, so things are not being rendered. However, when you restart, the train set reloads.

Clearly that isn't the problem.

Hi David, I also have this problem with tender locos. It seems repeatable, in that certain locos seem afflicted : but not consistently. Sometimes the loco and tender are both shown. Here is an explore mode scene from my WIP route at Hamworthy Jct . Loco is UKTSFile ID:27969

Well, at least I am not alone, but can anything be done about it?!

Hi Rick,
I've had a play around with the loco you used (34046), in its original downloaded state, but had no problem.

If you could please confirm your options settings, with particular regard to the Experimental tab, I'll make sure mine are the same and recheck.
Have you made any changes to the .eng file for Open Rails? I found that the loco works very well without any modifications!

I used OR X4326 under Windows 7 64bit with an NVIDIA GTX 750ti 2GB graphics card; the consist (loco & tender) was created using the freeware version of ConBuilder.

Cheers,
Ged
