Thanks Tim, Rick & Wayne.

After doing some switching in the White River Junction yard for about an hour and a half, dropping off some cars and picking up others, the train was at last put back together, did its break test and received clearance from the yard master to head south on the River Sub.

All was quiet around the yard for well over an hour, during which time the two of us romed around looking at what else we could take pictures of while staying out of everyone's way.

Shortly after this last shot we heard another train entering the yard from the north, from Wells River. We took up a couple spots and got the following pictures as it passed through the yard without stopping, having no work to do.

Around this time Tim and I were getting hungry and so we said goodbye and thanks to my uncle and headed into tow to get something to eat.

Really nice shots. Almost makes me wish I'd grown up in New England instead of Colorado.
I'm not sure that bulkhead flat in the fourth shot fits in with the era you're trying to portray though.

More please.

Steve

Paul Charland's excellent Conn. River Route with minor alterations:

It is a dreary morning with scattered shower of light rain when the north bound B&M manifest between Brattleboro, VT and White River Jct., VT is about to receive clearance to leave the yard. It has spent some time making up it's train from the wheel report they yard master gave the engineer and his performed the necessary break check is now just waiting for clearance to leave the yard. At last clearance is received and the engines spring to life and the train starts to slowly move.

The last shot I got was just north of Brattleboro just after the train had passed and all that was left was the dreary quiet of the morning and the grass on the hill above the right of way soaking up the moisture out of the air before the heat of the summer would make showers few and far between.

I jumped back in the car and headed for Bellows Falls, hoping to beat the train there.

I'm impressed with the tree covered hills. Very nicely done. Are those your textures Paul or did they come with the route?

You have achieved a nice look there. I really like Paul’s routes.

Yes, I must add to the chorus, very nice looking tree placement with some very good tree models. As for the manifest, I can imagine the sound of those 567's accelerating out of town, spiced with the chant of a 244 for variety. One of my favorite sounds!

Dave,

All I mainly did was substitute textures from the extensive library I have accumulated over the years. I changed out the rail and tie textures, substituted in different trees, changed the ground terrtex and microtex. Other than that, the placement and route are all Paul's excellent work.
