When autoplacing gantry, how can I achieve that the masts are all on a specific, say the right side of the track? I tried the rotate offset, but saw no difference. I used One Point Rotation, Only Rot is checked, Rotate Offset y=180°, Target: Track. Please help!

Is there anywhere an explanation for the "Auto Placement" panel? Especially for the offsets, because everything I tried had no visible effect on the objects.

Maybe you have "Stick to track" option enabled. In this case, the offsets will not work.
