In trying to recreate EdwardK's problem I found a display problem. File used is the default gp38.eng with the Name line removed. Note that the lower portions of the lower case G & P are not shown in the display of the filename below the graphic of the loco.

Also the same problem DOES NOT occur in the item listings in the ENG List 1 or the Consist Items list. Nor the data area of the Engine View'

This text is a OpenGL texture created from QPainter "drawText" function.
Text size was adjusted for Arial 24 px font in Windows 7.
It is sad for me that it looks different on Windows 10. The font is too big and too bold. Don't know easy fix for it. Maybe The Arial font is different on Windows 10, or maybe there is something else going here.

It would be nice to fix it in the future.

Before someone comments that the ENG in the OP is not the default MSTS GP38. My main interest is in the early diesel era. I have replaced the skin on the MSTS Default BNFS GP38 with an ATSF GP38.

One question. What is your DPI on Windows settings?

1920 x 1080 text scaling 100% (Same problem at 125%)

1600 x 1200 same problem

1400 x 1050 same problem
