I am getting "Engine stopped" in the F5 display in Open rails with some Pro trains locos.
I do not know how to change that to "Engine running".

Yeah. Have same. Check engs or simply change rolling stock. I allways change default PT stock to better looking.

Ok but is there keys to press in Open Rails to change the loco from engine stopped to engine running?

This may be due to use of extended ORTS diesel parameters, which AFAIK by default sets the engine to OFF position at the time of starting.. Use Ctrl+Y key to start/stop them...
