Hi Folks,

In an attempt to convert everything to DDS in support of ORTS - is there a command line tool that will read an ACE and save it to say a TGA (interim state) retaining the state of the Alpha (exists/doesn't exist) ? I have the old Nvidia command line tools to handle the second part of the conversion to DDS...

Thanks...

Regards,
Scott

Hi Richard,

Thanks for the response - while unfamiliar with paint.net - PSP or ConvImX could do it from a TGA - but the part I need is the initial ACE to TGA conversion... I only want the TGA to have an Alpha if it's already present - I don't want to create an Alpha for every texture... I'd prefer to have a command line tool to use in a script so I can process thousands of files at once...

Regards,
Scott

Fair enough, although at present, if you are not all ready aware, only "trains" support dds with the option tick.

Structures can be made to use dds only by editing the texture filenames in the s file (.ace to .dds) as far as I am aware at the moment.

Unless things have changed...

Hi Richard,

Oops - if only trains support the DDS check mark option - it's a gross misconception on my part and this thread is really moot...

Scott
