Evening, I have modified the Frampton yard on the Full Bucket Line to make the turntable a useable type by ORTS. However, I can drive on to the table and though the table but when I try to reverse again I get TCS emergency braked and then am stuck as ORTS says the table is misaligned. The track giving me trouble is a turnout connected directly to the turntable.

I can offer up my modded route for testing incase there is a problem with turntables connected to turnouts.

Log this time from the MG Version.

Can you attach here your turntables.dat file?
Are you using a standard turntable? If not, can you attach here the block that defines the turntable in tsection.dat?

Turntable is the standard a1t27m turntable.

I will say that there was a non animated US2 turntable in the same spot so I switched them out in RE.

I don't know what the cause is? But on this route none of the signals light up at all. All CTC signals are dark in ORTS.

Hmm, Should this not be possible? More troubles on the tracks.

Could it be possible to have a view added to the turntable so a cabview of the control room could be used to operate the turntable?

Sounds, I have discovered why some can't hear the turntable. It would appear the sounds are only being emitted from the point of entry side of the turntable. Seems something needs adjusting in the coding to center the sound emitted from the middle of the pit.

The turntables.dat file seems to be correct.
If you still have problems, and assuming you have added the correct animation block to the turntable shape file, I fear you should make your modified route available to find out what your problem is.

Still having the same problem on the road off that table that is a switch. I think there is a problem with ORTS turntables and their interaction with points aka switches.

I will make my route available.

Update,

I can confirm the problem is with ORTS and the interaction between the turntable/transfer table and sets of points connected directly to those objects.

I went back and put a 1 meter straight piece of track between the turntable and the points and the problem went away.

I will recommend any future turntables to have short sections of straight track about the width of the skirt on the a1t27 default turntable section. I would say between 4 and 5 meters as barriers between points and turn/transfer tables. I suggest sections longer than the 1 meter and 2 meter sections of track only because those shapes were known trouble makers in MSTS. If a route is to be compatible with both sims than careful use of track sections will avoid those problems such short sections caused in MSTS.

The fact that the switch is directly connected with the turntable seems to be a good reason for having troubles. In fact also MSTS doesn't like back-to-back switches.
When I have time I'll shortly check whether this problem can be easily solved. If not, I'll add to the manual a sentence stating that turntables can't be directly connected with switches.

I have checked. There isn't a simple solution to the problem, so that I have inserted in the manual (x.4129) a warning that turntables and transfertables can't be directly connected to a leading switch.

Robert, thank you for having provided me this test case.
