Hello.

How to advertise train stations?
Yet, I gave a different name to each station....
There is no name registered in .w files

I'm assuming you added station names in a route editor? If so, did you only enter a station name or platform name, or did you do both? If you did put in both, then apparently something hasn't updated the .tit file, which controls names of sidings and platforms, among other things

I used TSRE5 and I wrote the good name each time.

OR doesn't use the .tit file, only the .tdb file. The .tit file only duplicates information already available in the .tdb file.

I can give you to pictures
1. Attempting to give a good name to the platform
2. The result in the ROUTE.tit file

If you look at your screenshot, above Platform name it says new station which corresponds to the data in your tit file. I think you have to edit the new station line as well to give it a proper name.

Thank you. I did not think that it was necesssary to edit the default name when I indicate the actual name!

THankyou!

NEW and LAST DETAILS ABOUT THIS SUBJECT

It seem that TRACKVIEWER do not use ROUTE.tit . because :
I changed all platform name in the tit file of the route with the good value and ...... NOTHING CHANGED for TRACKVIEWER

but..... SURPRISE my platforms are not registerd in world files!

So It is necessary to move this subject in TSRE5 forum

But why?

I have just finished several additional stations and platforms using TSRE5 and there is absolutely NO problem.

In TSRE if you completely & correctly enter the information in the form it shows up as it should in the Sim.

Station Name: This does not appear in the Sim
Platform Name: This does appear in the Sim

This is exactly how station properties was displayed in MSTS

And here the picture shows what you will see in the Open Rails.

Manually altering a file (*.TIT) as has been explained to you, that is NOT used in the Sim can have unpredictable and confusing results.
Hope this helps.

vince

I've placed platform and siding markers for a sizeable route and had no trouble from TSRE. So I, too, have my doubts about it being a TSRE issue. In Track Viewer, you can coose to have the station and/or platform names shown. If one or both doesn't work, then you know what you have to change
