I don't have any personal V scale link n' pin pics of good enough quality to share in such threads as these, but I do have a stash of Rod (aka "august1929") pics that Rod was kind enough to shoot for publicity purposes concerning the release of the Ozark Northern route eons (in computer years) ago. Unfortunately, for some odd reason on this newer machine, the vast bulk of them are squeezed into a square format from the 4.3 ratio they originally were. Here is one of handful of pics NOT compressed square among the dozens that were compressed square.

Oh... and have I have ever mentioned that "REAL men, model LINK n' PIN!"????

:rotfl:

Maybe once or twice, Andre. :whistling:

Rod sure does take nice screen shots. This shot of his reminds me of those old Paul Detlefsen paintings of days gone by.

I wonder why your new PC is compressing images, and why only certain ones?

Central Pacific Storm and Jupiter hauling a passenger train (on Stevens Pass LOL)...this is a very nice set. This is TS2018. I need to build a good old American 4-4-0!

Nice pictures Tim. Looks like we're the only MEN here. :lol2:

That painting you posted above... would you happen to have it in a larger resolution? That one could make a neat framed 8x10 for somewhere here in my hobby room, or at least shared among the Early Rail venues I frequent.

Thanks, Andre. :friends: :lol2: I'm sure there's a few more around here! :lol2: Why, look at Mike's great series on your (modified) ON route!

As for the Detlefsen painting, no, and I tried finding a larger image of it using Google image search. I have a playing card with that painting on it I found somewhere. But I sure would like to find a larger version. I do have a Paul Detlefsen print hanging up in my kitchen/dining area that my late wife found for me at an antique store. But it's of what looks like a Union Pacific "Bull Moose" 2-8-8-0 with a little rattler out in the desert, going away with the caboose as the focus of the painting. Paul Detlefsen was a mat painter at Republic Pictures during the 1940's and 50's from what I understand.

Mike:

It is very gratifying to see you still having fun with my ON and StL&NA routes! Very gratifying. AND... that's some pretty cool equipment and I really like the look of your mods to the routes! Well done!

Tim:

Interesting. Never heard of the guy. I've got several "Railroad" magazine cover art scans that I've restored, but I've sort of lost incentive in regards to posting/sharing them as well as lost my enthusiasm to work in the photo software restoring more of them. Ah well... perhaps the energy will return "one of these days".

All fer now!
