Got the format issue solved and thought I'd share some of Rod's pics he shot for me "way back when". Even by today's standards, these old Rod pics are great!!

First up... Shay 100 works the Buckhorn Branch...

And here's the 100 down at Zinc City as it gets ready to switch out its cars for another trip up the Buckhorn Branch...

And a look down the Lumber Lead that leads to several sawmill spurs of some of the sawmills at St. Paul, Arkansas...

All fer now!

You're right about Rod's old pictures, Andre, they do look great. It's good to see them and the ONR, from out of the box and Mike's modified versions. I've not run the 100 in a few years.

A transitional train, link and pin mixed with Janney knuckle couplers, as was the case for a period in history. Knuckles were slotted and pinned to accept the links of the older cars.

Into the house to attend to a hot journal on the 100's front truck..

The pike is my old NP styled free-lanced mess I've had for 14 or so years. The Shay #100 is from Andre's Ozark Northern, I highly recommend it, not only for the route, but for the fine rolling stock by Jon Davis included with it. The NP, OWP&Ry, PRL&P rolling stock is mine, with some of Jon's mixed in. The Soo Line box car is a very old repaint I did about 15 years ago on a Wayne Campbell model.

Note: The Shay has had it's pin-striping and shine removed. It didn't display well in ORTS, too many "ziggies".

Reason for edit:: Added notation about the 100.

Excellent shots of days gone by. :good:

Not often I get to show LnP but I have atleast one such thing going on. Guess I'm starting to grow up. ;)

Tim:

Nice pictures! Your route and equipment look superb. Little discouraging to read that OR can't display pinstripes as good as MSTS w/hi res settings.

Jonatan:

Excellent modeling there! Looking forward to seeing the end result!

Hi Andre,

Thanks!

I think part of the problem with the stripes is the textures were done on 512x512 maps. And maybe they needed to be re-mipped(?). And, maybe it's just the settings I have on my video card. I've always had issues with pin stripes. Derek's Mason is one of the only ones that doesn't seem to have the problem, for me. It's probably because of his 2048sq aces.

Hey Jonatan, I like the shapes of your link and pin train. Is that all your own freelanced designs?

Thanks guys. Yes Tim it's all from my brain, a bit steampunkish fantasy-inspired.

Great thread - and thank you Andre for posting those ON photos - glad you got the aspect ratios sorted. Brings back very, very happy memories.

There is a new link & pin kid on the block - only one photo as I haven't run it much - late 60's (1860's that is :whistling: ) Wyoming...
