This was just reported over at trainsim.com. The 'cone of light' on the Baldwin Centipede does not work in Open Rails.

The PRR Baldwin 'Centipede' model, created originally by Frank Musick and modified by me, has seven shapes, supported by six engine files and one wag file. This is due to the articulated bogie sets and drawbar connection (with full width diaphram) for this locomotive. The consist for the Centipede is as follows:

1st 'unit' is the lead truck assembly (2 pilot axles-4 drive wheels)
2nd unit is the carbody,
3rd is the trailing truck assembly (4 drive wheels-2 trailing axles)
4th is the diaphram/drawbar
5th is flipped version of the 3rd (trailing truck assembly (4 drive wheels-2 trailing axles))
6th is flipped version of the 2nd (car body)
7th is flipped version of the 1st (lead truck assembly (2 pilot axles-4 drive wheels))

The problem is, the lighting section is in the 2nd and 6th units (car bodies). The headlight section works as expected, but the cone of light section is ignored.

I am happy to send the Centipede model to a developer if this will help.

Thanks

Have you looked in view 2 to see what might be going on?

I put the cone of light and the head lights into the 1st Unit ( the Front truck ) . Seems to work that way, and with the class lights in the 2nd Unit ( the body ).

Rick
Take the hashtag comment out of the braces on the Type line, it may be the cause of the problem. Comments should really be separate from data anyway.

Does OR recognize a "#" at all? With MSTS I have used the "#" to disable specific lights in some of my ENG files instead of deleting the light entries. With ORTS that did not work, i.e. the lights with a "#" in front were still functional. If OR would ignore the "#" the comment in the brackets may really be the cause of the problem with the Centipede.

Removing the comments made no difference in Open Rails, still no cone of light.

Thanks
