Dear friend,
I have seen that when the engine has two diameters of wheels (i.e. the USA GG1 or the Italian E428) in MSTS the different wheel size is fixed in the 'wagon' and 'engine' sections of .eng file.
In OR, it seems that only one diameter is admited. Is this a problem that you are working at?

bye, renzo.

Hi Renzo,
can you try if following file pack, to be replaced in x.4006, solves your problem?
Attached File  Wheels.zip (654.91K)

Dear friends,
after these years the problem remained, the electric locomotives that have wheels of different diameters, in MSTS rotate correctly at different speeds while in TSOR, they rotate as if all the same diameter. This is not the case with steam locomotives.
Many old electric locomotives have large driving wheels and small supporting wheels and it would be nice to be able to see them spinning at different speeds.
Wheel diameters are declared in the wagon section for the load-bearing wheels and in the engine section for the drive wheels.

We'll eventually need multiple idler wheel diameters for steam engines. For example:

NYC Hudson 4-6-4:
Lead Truck Wheel Diameter: 36" (Both)
Front Trailing Wheel Diameter: 36"
Rear Trailing Wheel Diameter: 51"

Pennsy K4s 4-6-2:
Lead Truck Wheel Diameter: 36" (Both)
Trailing Wheel Diameter: 50"

Nickel Plate Berkshire 2-8-4:
Lead Truck Wheel Diameter: 30"
Front Trailing Wheel Diameter: 36"
Rear Trailing Wheel Diameter: 40"

Norfolk & Western J 4-8-4:
Lead Truck Wheel Diameter: 36" (Both)
Trailing Truck Wheel Diameter: 42" (Both)

Southern Pacific GS2/3/4/5/6 Daylight:
Lead Truck Wheel Diameter: 36" (Both)
Trailing Truck Wheel Diameter: 45.5" (Both)

Renzo,
try inserting the following modified files in OR_NewYear_NG rev 125.3 and report if it is OK.

Attached File(s)

Hello Carlo,
I tried to insert the modified files and the wheels are spinning at the correct speed. It would be great if it became a permanent change.

bye, Renzo.

The fix is now included in ORNYMG 126.1 and in the official Unstable release U2022.06.17-1451.
