Hi All,

I would like to announce that Global tsection is residing within the Open Rails github framework.
There are a number of reasons for this:-

1. It takes away a single point of failure. ( me )
2. It is a place of safety as opposed to being stored at a persons home.
3. Open Rails and tsection have a future together.

At this point in time, with James assistance I will administer tsection.
At any time in the future, the team may take over, and can take over.

cheers
Derek

This sounds like it makes a lot of sense.

Is the latest version " 48 " being revised and/or repaired before release ?

Hi Hobo,

48 failed Open Rails testing, so Carlo has given me the information to correct the entries that were causing the problem.
All of the bad entries came from one contributor.

V50 is being tested at the moment, and will be released when ready.

I haven't updated in a while ( just forgot ) - I am currently using Build 00044. I don't normally run anything outside of NA routes...and everything appears okay, no warnings\errors concerning tsection from OR.
Should I start updating now, or just wait until 48 or 50 is ready?
The move to the repository makes sense.

No need to update until you acquire a route that requires a version newer than version 44.

Further to Jared's comments:-

Global tsection is only updated when new track pieces are used in a route.

Route authors will always specify what version of Global tsection is for their route.

48/50 is only required for Italian routes.

Hi,

I wrote to engmod about requiring track shape range of global Tsection.dat, but unfortunatelly he's ill and cannot fulfill my request. I'd like to ask the contributors to send me a track shape range of ~ 20 items, no track sections needed (have spare items from the last request).

Thank you in advance for your help.

I need about 200 more numbers for track shapes. The numbers already assigned to me are under the name of J.A. Norton and I'm going to run out. I need another large block because I need to make a set of streetcar tracks with 12ft centerline spacing and the roads they are in that have to car paths spaced with the above in mind.

FWIW if I could rebuild tdb's / .rdb's I could repurpose a large number of numbers I've already used by plugging their shape files into the world file as redirected filenames and thereby freeing up their shape numbers, but having used TSRE for long enough now MSTS RE always aborts on newly created instances having 4 negative numbers in Position() so that is no longer an option.
