Strange. As a DX12 card, it ought to be in the "no limitations" range. I was primarily worried about older cards. So you just get a blank grey box, then? Does it load in shape viewer?

No need to apologize, this is a fairly new thing to test, so data collection, feedback, and troubleshooting will all be very important. If, perhaps, it worked, but required a certain setting, and this was consistent, then it would become part of the "minimum requirements" to run the software.

So far all I've gotten is a large blue box. Is that what it's supposed to be? That's in SV not the sim.

Yes, it's just a box with a blue diffuse map with grey text applied.

OK, that's what I see on an old Win XP machine w/SP3 and a 8800 GTS vid card. http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif Although, I notice that the texture is square. (2048x2048) http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/pardon.gif

The diffuse map is square, yes, but not a power of two - it's 2560 x 2560, as opposed to 2048 x 2048.

That it works is encouraging, though! It means that designers can basically use whatever map size they want for OR. This is good for efficiency's sake, as materials once crammed into a second map can now be placed in the margins of a slightly larger single map.

The real joke here is that GMax doesn't display maps correctly in viewports if they're not a power of two, so I've had to settle on an oversized map with two locomotives in it instead of the original plan of a single locomotive in an extended-size non-power-of-two map. Oh, well. Those of you who are less anal retentive about your mapping have a new trick in your bag, anyway!

Trainsim Modeler also, textures must be a power of two and must be square. It also has other texture property requirements but that is OT for this thread.
