Woh! I tied to read through this thread and most of it is going over my head!

I am about to purchase a new system with 16GB of RAM. I will be install OR on this and would like it to use as much RAM as possible. Is it possible for a quick summary to be prepared detailing how this can be done?

David, your system should be fine. Install the regular openrails or whatever other version you might wish. All should work.

That's the simple answer. The rest of this thread is the quest to make it even better.

Hi Carlo,

The other day I have tried to play ORTS MG in multiplayer with another friend.

He seemed to have some issues with connection to the servers although I think that's not an issue with ORTS. The issue, however, is that ORTS MG became much more slower than on Single Player mode. Have you noticed any difference when trying the Multiplayer mode? I've got that nasty heavy lagging and noticed a reasonable amount of FPS drop.

Okay, I'm trying this on Ubuntu 16.04. I came up with an error.

Attached Image: OR _error1.jpg

This happened after I clicked the menu.exe. Perhaps I need to compile it myself, but I'm not proficient in doing that.

As of now, is the source code based on the link provided updated to the latest version which is X4018? I also would like to thank Carlo for the work.

Edward K.

Yes it was. I haven't tried it again since I got the other version of OR to run on Ubuntu. I'm trying to figure out what I have to install in a 64-bit wine instance to get this to work.

You don't need wine for monogame OR.
It uses OpenGL calls and Monogame framework

Monogame OR still uses DirectX.
