Good Morning:

When I went to start Open Rails this morning this showed up. Can anyone tell what happened and how to fix it. I think that I was running version 3941 when it started so I updated to 3951 to see if that would help but it did not.

Thanks for your help and to the guys who have created this great program.

As a first step I'd suggest you to delete all the content of the OR folder and to install it from scratch using the .zip file for x.3951 you can download from here http://james-ross.co...jects/or/builds .

Thank you the come back.

I always update to a new version by deleting the contents of my OR folder and installing manually. One thing that I have noticed is that when I click on the shortcut for OR it doesn't ask if I want to allow OR to make changes to my computer like other programs do using Windows 10.

Thanks again

Chandler

I get those errors occasionally myself. All I have to do is close out the program and reload it again and that fixes it for me. I may have to reload a couple times to get it all working again, tho.

That prompt only appears when an application is requesting "Administrator-like" permissions. Such permissions are required to add/change/remove files in the Program Files/Program Files (x86) folders, for example. Because Open Rails makes no changes to content files, it should not need any such permissions. It doesn't hurt to run it As Administrator, but it shouldn't be necessary.

If your Open Rails install works and then suddenly generates the error you posted, you should check your computer for viruses and other malware. You should also check your anti-virus logs to see if it took action because it thought Open Rails is a new kind of virus (it isn't). There is no reason, under normal circumstances, for the OR executable to become corrupted.
