Hello,

I give the idea for integrate manual ventilationsound for electric (and diesel) locomotives/trains.

With thanks to some persons i have add this in a personal spinoff of Openrails and the code.

It works on CTRL + ALT + V keyboardcombination and simulate the manual ventilation by older trains.

On this moment it works with Setstreamvolume to zero if locomotivepower shutdown (circuitbreaker open)

But i prefer to make in the code, that there is a link with locomotivepower (stream 23/24) in future. This in case of fadeout and HUD data. (overridesystem)

sample like it is now: https://youtu.be/SEAioeQNeFQ

I hope there is interest to add this too the official ORTS versions ;-)

P.S. I forgot to say:

The locomotive in the movie is a belgian locomotive, if you let panto's up and there is linevoltage you must make agreement to put reverserlever forward & back to neutral.

After closing the circuitbreaker... you hear the noise of aux. i put on the ventilation later. And let show a test

What i mean with test is that in real if ventilation is not "on" you can not give traction.

On actual situation of my cabview the mask of ventilation light (trottleleveranimation) is not ok. I need rework my texture for working better in ORTS.

If ventilation is "off" and driver will give traction, the light must display directly.

Hello,

I think that the idea of Stijn D.C. is good, and could give a new useful function for OpenRails. Indeed, in my country (France), some old locomotives haven't automatic ventilation, and the driver needs to switch on it after having closed the circuit breaker, or to switch off it before opening the circuit breaker.

As ventilation authorizes the driver to give more power to the locomotive, it could be useful to make failures to the engine if we try to overcome the limit without ventilation.

The same thing could be done for air compressor, which is set to stop at 9 bar in France, but could be manually activated to reach 10 bar.

Have a nice night.
