Excellent :yahoo: - let's have some more :)

Hi Andre - it was a very nice email about me not taking the term "Brit" too seriously - and you were right of course...

Returning to wires - this thread has encouraged me to dig deeper into my MSTS past and also to spend a bit of time with the new kid on the block - one that I had all but consigned to the dustbin of games purchased but not played...

Visuals in TSW (screenshot possibilities) are actually pretty good if you are careful what you do, the angle, direction, light source etc. No different to MSTS and TS2017, just something you need to get used to. None of them can compete with MSTS though, around 17:00 to 19:00 on a summers evening using Marcs environment from Feather River - got to be the best ever and plenty examples shown higher in this thread :thumbup3:

More wires...in different guises

In shots 2 and 4 you can see the LOD (?) blurring in the distance - something you don't seem to get with MSTS (if set to Max) or even TS2017. It does spoil the visual impact if you see too much of it - I would prefer a discrete haze.

BTW - all the close foliage moves in the gentle breeze - really very nice...

Rod

Yes, the visuals on TSW, and even the TS series, is superb. Shame about the train handling.

Ah, that PM/email. I recall someone had used that term and you two had some "discussion" about it. Good natured ribbing is one thing, but it's hard to discern such in typed mediums, especially if the person you're typing at doesn't know you well. In the case of you and me, I would think nothing of you saying to me "yes, but you're one of those Yank's!" (conversely, I think I've ribbed you about being a "Limey"!)... 'cause I know you and I know how we both tease about our backgrounds at times. However, as I've learned/relearned, not everybody catches onto such causal banter as readily. Therefore I'm more cautious about who I joke/banter with. It's all good, however, and typically most things get sorted here in a civil manner, as was the case with your situation, I'm sure.

All fer now! Again, 'tis really good to see you posting again.

Yeah. I've been ignoring it lately... there always seems to be too much left to do for me to find it comfortable to do. Funny tho, I can put in a burst of results, feel great about it, and then, on looking to what else needs to be done, blanch, and turn my back on it all. These days for my amusement I sail either a schooner or a square rigged ship out of Kings-port Port Royal, Jamaica, in a game called Naval Action. From the Windward Islands to the coast of Mexico, Aruba to North Carolina... kinda dull, but easy to do and very nice looking. Occasionally I shoot up some other ship. Suits my mood.

I hear you loud and clear on the "seems too much left to do" thing. That's what has happened to my Frisco Lines route. Overbuilt it... and now there's SO much scenery stuff to place I "blanch" as you say!

Sailing a wind jammer could be very relaxing. Is that only playable via Steam, or do you download it, install it, and it can be played off line in an "AI" environment?

As for me and my "other" thing: At the moment it is racing 1955 GP cars on the circuits of the world.

   I love it!

Yeah, it's good to have another outlet. I for one like playing Skyrim on the ol' xBox. Sometimes I just like to go out huntin' on the vast tundras.

So, Dave, that shot of the PE Ten...did you build that overhead? That's amazing. Is that Sacramento Northern Tracks?
