It is possible. You don't understand me. Look at the image tutorial again.

Well, here's my own tutorial.

First, I place the cross-over section, not attached to any sections of track, as you suggest.
Note that what you see here is one section, that's how UKFS slips are defined.

As you can see in TrackViewer, despite the fact that this trackpiece is 'isolated' as you suggest, no cross-over point is created.

Next, I insert the switches.

Clearly, still no cross-over point is shown.

Finally, I add the connecting track sections.

And there is no cross-over point for this slip.

Now, please tell me what I'm doing wrong and how I could do this otherwise.
But note that there is no cross-over item generated right from the start - there should have been when the first section is placed.

Rob Roeterdink

There's possibly another issue here... not all crossovers are correctly built, and some don't show the node even when used within the MSTS RE.

If it didn't work in the MSTS RE, then it shouldn't be expected to work in TSRE5...

UKFS slips work very well in MSTS RE, there's a fair few of them in station approach shown below.
As you can see, there's three of them which connect to one another (top right, two double and a single slip). The single slip at bottom left also has its cross-over node in the correct position.

In your case it didn't worked because this shape has more than two lines near crossover point (< 0.5m) and crossover item is placed only if two trvectors are found.
When it's set to 0.2m in TSRE code, it works fine:

And it also fixed vince case (Y1tDblSlip190Xover_.s), because if switch is placed first, it's also more that two trvectors < 0.5m.

Hi Eric,
I missed this post, late reply . . . Romans Double Slip crossovers do work correctly in MSTS. I thought I had mentioned that. I do use the MSRE to select / deselect / save the Xover which adds the crossing Node.

"....also fixed vince case ...."
Did I miss a fix?
