Hi All,

I've been working on a model of a unique B&M Caboose.

Attached Image: B&M.JPG

Per our usual approach, I've created a separate 'passenger view' shape for inside the cupola, rather than using the main shape. No matter what material type I try for the window panes is TSM. they always show as see-through in OR. In MSTS they show a tint. Photos below show the effect:

Model in OR (camera view 5):

Model in MSTS (camera view 5):

Has anyone seen this issue before? Is this a known problem?

EDIT: Same thing happens using the main shape as a passenger view.

Thanks!

Rick

I have notice this too. Some of my passengers view windows have alpha for reflection, dirt , tint etc. On another passenger view with a different shape file but using alpha as above, the windows are clear. Both textures have alpha and no trans.

I also have curtains overlapping the windows, these are alpha textures along with the shape alpha parameters. In MSTS, the curtain edges are smooth(alpha), but in OR they are jagged like having a trans texture.
On passenger views causing this problem. I looked in the shape file, and while i could see no obvious reasons, i believe OR is reading things a little bit different compared to MSTS.

Example, the alpha windows in the shape file which will not display alpha has :

prim_state Material_#1 ( 00000000 1
tex_idxs ( 1 6 ) 0 25 0 0 1
)
prim_state Material_#1 ( 00000000 1
tex_idxs ( 1 6 ) 0 26 0 0 1
)

These represent seperate parts for two windows.

In the shape file that does display alpha has :

prim_state Main_AlphBright+ ( 00000000 1
tex_idxs ( 1 0 ) 0 0 0 0 1
)
This represents 16 windows in the shape file.

On the former if i change :

prim_state Material_#1 ( 00000000 1
tex_idxs ( 1 6 ) 0 25 0 0 1
)
prim_state Material_#1 ( 00000000 1
tex_idxs ( 1 6 ) 0 0 0 0 1
)

The alpha is now displayed on the first window while the second window is invisible.

The problem could be a very easy fix or is indeed a bug.

Thanks

Definitely a bug, and it's been pointed out in the past and presumably filed under the 'To do when heck freezes over' category. Noteable examples I've found are these of the BLW/ZT Stock
