Hii everybody...

I am tweaking some engine parameters of a 3100HP Locomotive using the ORTSDIESELENGINE parameter. But I am unable to understand what function does the Rpm vs Torque table does. The Manual only mentions that it's TORQUE of diesel engine, but in testing it seems that it instead affects the TRACTIVE EFFORT of locmotove.

IOW, I have a chart showing the torque curve of diesel engine (Alco 251B), entering the same parameters however instead affects the TE fallof of locomotive. Would be helpful if somebody explains me how proper use of this parameter.... :sign_thanks:

IIRC, you can omit the Rpm vs Torque if the engine is not geared. A recent changed allow this to be ommited from the ORTSDieselEngine. The other parameters will still work if this table is not used.

Thanks

Yea I never notice anything either while experimenting Torque. Other parameters work well though an are good parameters for Throttle percentages, fuel consumption depending on model an RR company settings.

There just needs to be a Dynamic braking tab for RPM an consumption settings implemented.

Can you post the section on your ORTSDieselEngines table?

Thanks
