Can any of you guys point me in the right direction to make some videos of Open Rails sessions to share? What are you using to capture the run? I know with OR you can replay your run but I see no way to save it to and MP4 or whatever is the current technology.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :bigboss:

I personally use Bandicam for screen recording, but Fraps is also quite reliable albeit more limited in its trial mode. Windows Movie Maker should suffice if you simply plan on compiling footage together, although you can also upload individual clips you recorded.

Been using Bandicam for years...good program, payware - but IMO worth it.

There's a free trial for Bandicam which you can also use. I did find a way to eliminate the watermark, but it requires a more advanced video editor with an in-depth crop feature and having the simulator in windowed mode. What you do is use the target record mode, select the entire window, and move the top of the selection above the top of the window. The result should look like what is shown below. The trick now is to import the video into your video editor and crop out everything but OR. The result should be a flawless OR capture with no watermark.

I recently found out my nVidia card will run a free video capture the company provides. I've tried it and found it to be better than fraps (name forgotten of course). :whistling:

That reminds me...nVidoa also has NvGpuUtilization.exe on my PC which is a simple line chart that dynamically plots the GPU utilization. I know that one cuz its shortcut is on my display.

I think you're talking about shadowplay. I have not been able to get it to work in Open Rails. It has been my understanding that there are only so many games compatible with shadowplay. Also, a GTX 600 series card is required and you must download the GeForce Experience app in order to use it.
