Was curious if it would be possible to play cylinder cock sounds as the cylinders are open and then have them stop playing when they are shut. Right now in MSTS and Open Rails I have cylinder cock sounds but only for a specific amount of time when you first get started until the sound is cut off but it sure would be nice if the sound was since with the C button so the sound could be turned on and off when its pushed just like the bell is. This is one thing that has always bugged me with MSTS and it would be great if it could be fixed in Open Rails.

You must be using a sound file that shuts it off after a certain speed automatically . Mine are all manual and they work whenever I want them to . I only use OR now and they are the same as I used in MSTS . That's if I understand your question properly .

How would I set it up that way? I have it set to the speed but I have it set up so it shuts off once you get to a specific speed but not when you shut the cylinders.

discretetrigger startloop, and discrete trigger releaselooprelease.
Discrete_Trigger ( 137 StartLoopRelease ( 1 File ( "yoursound.wav" -1 ) SelectionMethod ( SequentialSelection ) ) ) Discrete_Trigger ( 138 ReleaseLoopRelease () )

Anyone have a generic UK steam sound source for cylinder drain valves (Cylinder Cocks)?

Thanks I just coded it in one of my steam locomotive sound files and it works great! Also got it to work so it plays faster or slower depending on speed.

Great job, maybe that's what the MSTS platform with OR can offer.
Really seeing the steam escaping through the cylinders needs a sound for that!
