Very good!

Do keep in mind that some routes don't have MP placed, generally those still being worked on by their creator. I use OR extensively to review recent changes.

Any chance you'll slip in the gradient next too?

Thanks to all for appraisal!
The function is working now for Auto mode; I must have it working for Explorer and manual mode, and must insert the hooks for Timetable mode.

Dave, thanks for your reminder, I'll have a run with a MP-free route.

I'll examine the gradient issue.

To approach OpenRails 1.2 I'm currently testing this feature, see picture

I guess we need some visual indicator the distance is an actual milepost and not just the distance to a random item (platform, signal, etc.) but...

Excellent! My old eyes usually have trouble reading mileposts in the sim.

It's not just old eyes, my 24 year old soon to be 25 year old peepers can't see them very well either.

Thank you!

Old eyes or no, it's not always easy to read scale-sized mileposts on-screen if they're whipping by at higher track speeds. http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/ko2.gif

Hi Carlo,

as you are currently working on the track monitor: one or two years ago I added a Bug conc. the missing station-indicator (the blue bars) in the track monitor when you are in explorer mode.
This is a function available in MSTS, but somehow got lost in OR.
Maybe you can also have a look at this.

Best wishes

I attach here some .exe and .dll files that provide milepost display on the track monitor, if inserted in release x.3669. I hadn't yet time for special requests, but if I'll have time I'll have a check also for them. Pls. test it before I upload it.

24/11/2016: new release available in a post further down

Mirek,
good that it works.
I have now a release that displays gradients, as suggested by Dave. The gradient is displayed only if it is not equal 0.
See pictures

Here are the .exe and .dll files to be replaced in x.3669 to test this:

To Rogue: sorry, but in Explore Mode OR does not have station stops available at all. So the whole management for it should be inserted, which is not worth the effort for Explore Mode (at least for me).

Thanks Carlo!
Looks good! I personally am very happy the gradient info is now shown in TrackMonitor (and you don't need to see it in F5 HUD only). (In my country, there are railroad signs that show gradient info in the form: Promiles up/down plus length in meters. In most routes available for the sim there is nothing like this.)
My comment: the gradient is always shown as if you are running forward which may be a little confusing when you are running backward. Let's take this as a fact, or wait for the others' opinion.
Anyway - I consider your improvement very useful!

PS: I can see that mileposts work now in Explorer mode too.

Best regards,
Mirek
