I have tried to modify the procedure for signals to use for track-parts.
I hope it can help you.

Thanks EugenE for your help, I will try this out.
It all helps me to understand how the different files work together.

Hi eugenR,
I was unable to try your method because my route has become too corrupted and TSRE and OR will not open it. I have therefore gone back to my most recent backup and copies in the two World tile files for the affected region, and the TDB from that route. I firstly loaded the backup route in TSRE and selected each track section in the affected areas and pressed Z to remove from the TDB. Then copied in the two tiles and TDB. All I have to do now is select each track section again and enter it into the TDB file. This means that all the track I recently laid will be maintained.
I will keep your method to hand in case I experience any more track sections which disappear.

This week something similar has happened. An entire station disappeared in one unique tile. So, I edited the tdb and searched for all trackitems in that tile and replaced them with

Quote

TrackNode ( 1780
TrVectorNode (
TrVectorSections ( 4 43560 41350 -6620 14359 32 0 1 00 -6620 14359 -876.43622 10.631907 -646.85895 0 3.6935456 0 43562 41350 -6620 14359 32 0 1 00 -6620 14359 -956.36304 10.631907 -776.65314 0 3.6935456 0 43566 41350 -6620 14359 32 0 1 00 -6620 14359 -969.85144 10.631907 -798.88037 0 3.6805456 0 39897 38096 -6620 14359 1 3 2 00 -6620 14359 -979.875 10.631907 -815.64044 0 3.6805434 0 )
)
TrPins ( 1 1
TrPin ( 2006 1 )
TrPin ( 11267 1 )
)
)

Substituted with:

Quote

EmptyItem (
TrItemId ( 1780 )
)

It worked.
I just had to lay all the station from scratch and until now, I have no errors. right now the TDB entries i replaced with have all been ocuppied

You can't use "EmptyItem" in TrackNode table. It isn't allowed here.
TSRE treated this entry as NULL value and removed it during saving route changes, but it should be never done this way. Too risky.

So, TSRE reordered the entire TDB?

one thing is sure. That new Errors & Messages functionality help me get rid of a lot of problems, especially with crossoveritems.
I have to thank you, Goku, for your continuous effort in making TSRE5 better and better!

Hi Goku.

Can you explain me one thing that i noticed?

I place a switch and after that, when I save the track node number in red changes. Is this normal? does it dreate any problem? is it sympthom of any problem?
I made a trackdatabe rebuild this weekend and I'm continuing with the work on my route. Still seeing trackpieces that do not show in tdb (without yellos line) and dynamic curves in steps in the yellow line… :(

Numbers changing is a normal thing. TSRE removes empty entries on save, so the numbers must change.

Thanks for the remark. I was beginning to think that, that caused the track piece attached to the point to disapear from tdb. It happens a lot, remaining the track shape, being dynamic or not.

A problem which I have noticed recently is that track pieces can change direction.
If you have a track section originating at a switch, and connect this at the other end to another existing switch, the direction of that whole section may change but the direction of the first track section next to the original switch is not properly processed and now is pointing the wrong way, see diagram.

Also, any signals already installed on that section may now all point the wrong way.
