I've been wanting to model for quite some time now, but I've tried and never been able to get far. Any tips?

Jake

If you're talking about creating a route in MSTS, go to trainsim.com and download Michael Vone's Guild to Route Building, it's free in the library. Do the tutorial, it covers about 85% of what you need to know to build any route.

And, if it's creating models you're interested in, try all the 3D modeling apps out there. They are all hard to grasp and have a steep learning curve so hunker down, dig in and get ready for a wild ride. Creating models is probably the hardest of all the aspects of the hobby. Once you catch on though, you'll be able to create content you'll be proud of.

I don't think 3D modelling is hard to learn. The trick is to pace yourself. Start small and simple. Once you get your head wrapped around what you're doing you can get more and more ornate and complex. Also do not expect your first models to be final editions. You will get better over time.
