Well I'm stumped with that on because I can't get my install to even work like that. It has never worked for me period.

Cheers Tony B)

Not sure I'm understanding you. All consists are within the CONSIST folder in the TRAINS folder. If you put a folder within the CONSIST folder, it won't work. (unless your aim is to "hide" consists to clear away clutter or remove broken ones . . . then sticking them in a folder meets the aim).
Christopher

PS - I see you are new here. Welcome aboard!

First of all you had the consist named " CP5980 " . Go to FILE at top and SAVE . You did not do that before trying to exit the program . That's why it asks you to save or discard . If you said save it wouldn't save because you didn't choose the new name . If you SAVE at first after forming the consist , before trying to EXIT then you won't even see the small pop up window . That small pop up window lets you know you didn't save the consist when you should have - gives you second chance .

Where is the CONSIST folder that you want to put the new CONSIST in ? AS Chris says it should be in the TRAINS folder . There is only 1 consist folder per install. If you have multiple mini installs then each one has it's own CONSIST folder and the install called up when you loaded the CONEDIT should have a CONSIST folder where Chris says .

Goku may be onto something.

Your MSTS installation should NOT be in the Program Folder (which is it's default location). And neither should any open rails routes/consists/trainsets, etc. There are special instructions at steam4m.net about installing MSTS.

Hi Goku,

I am noticing that your consists editor does not display any of my consist with a _ in the file name. Example: 2_U30C_FREIGHT_MIX.con. A lot of my payware trains use this method of naming their consists. Will you please look into this? I've also attached the file for your inspection.

Thanks,
Steve

Upon further inspection, it is showing some of the consists, but missing others. Maybe the file will help determine why.

This one works fine for me.

Consists are listed by name not filename, for example this file will be under:
"DW 2 U30C FREIGHT MIX"

Don't know what problem you have, but:

#anything
#consoleOutput = false

and

#anything
#consoleOutput = true

Is the same. Line beginning with # is a comment and it is ignored.
