This is one of the earliest boot boiler Shays built by Lima Machine Works and, is more commonly known as a 'T' boiler. (Circa 1884.)
I've modeled this loco after the CN104, among others of the same era. It's gauged for 3 foot operation and was used for logging, mainly. The link & pin couplers were typical of that era along with the lack of breaks.
