I recently noticed that if you start an activity with the Acela, the "dynamic brake: setup" message is active and after a few seconds, the BC pressure will drop down to 0. This does not happen on diesels so I am not sure if its only on electrics since I only tested the Acela. In my testing, it is fine in X3393, but not fine in X3445. I still have some more testing to determine when the problem started.

Edit: I found out the problem started with X3407 when Dynamic Brake blending was implemented.

Does anybody know if the dynamic brake blending operation is suppose to operate like this? Once I release the brakes then reapply the brakes, the BC pressure will reflect this, but after a few seconds, the BC pressure drops back down to 0. The train is not moving so there should be no reason to activate the dynamic brakes, but this is happening as well.

Here is the link to the post. I did test the same activity under MSTS and the Acela under MSTS did not do this so for the time being, this is a bug.

I am not sure whether I am answering your question or not, but the following quote may or may not shed some light on the dynamic brake operation (could be different for different brake types):

Dynamic Brake Interlock
This is an automatic electro-pneumatic device on locomotives that releases or holds off an automatic service application on locomotive units when the dynamic brake is in operation.
This feature is nullified during emergency applications.

So it would appear that, at least in some instances, the train (automatic) brake can be released by applying the dynamic brake, however it should not affect the operation of the independent (engine) brake.

Is this what you are highlighting?

I do not normally run passenger trains so this was something that I was not expecting.
