Frank Musick's Little Joe model was the starting point to the E74, a much re-worked and re-textured late-model version of his 1950's model, coming soon. Thanks to Frank's free-spirited approach to modeling and sharing his TSM files, I have been able to re-produce the single-ended 1970's version, as they appeared in the final days of Milwaukee electrification. With the expert assistance of Chuck Zeiler with the engine files and lighting, ( a very daunting task, with those 4-bulb headlights!), these motors will be an exciting addition to the expanding Milwaukee electric stable.

Whew! (Whistles to self)...

Nice work Frank and Tim!

I may not be a juice fan, but I can certainly recognize good 3D work/texturing when I see it!

Excellent!

Andre

Speaking for Frank, ( and myself) thank you, Andre. Working on this gave me insight into the making of carbody ( i.e. "streamlined" ) architechture. I completely re-worked Franks's model so that very little of his work is left, that being just the nose and body ( even that is modified), and the pony truck and motors (again modified). Chuck and I are using a different approach to the type and file arrangements too. Where Frank is using one engine and a wagon for the trucks and carbody respectively, we're using two engines, the rear truck is a separate unit from the truck, and built that way. The carbody is also an engine, so the user will find them all in the same category in the consist editor. Also, because our units will have operating regenerative (dynamic) brakes, it will have to be typed as a diesel, like the boxcabs we made.

No, but I bet if you asked Frank, he might consider it. He's very hot to try anything new.

Getting closer. Today Chuck will be playing around with the brakes. The shapes are done, unless beta testing reveals needed changes. Still not satisfied with the textures, but it's time to let it go. I've also made new skins for the boxcabs to go with the Joes in their 1970's paint.

From the standpoint of a non-designer, those look GREAT! The textures look real good on my system.

Heck, I like the releases at T-S. These should be awesome.

Let Go!!!
