Ok now I have progress with those brakes. 9 car train realise in 40 sec. Here are parameters I have use to diesel locos and freight cars

Diesel :

EmergencyBrakeResMaxPressure( 90 )
TripleValveRatio( 2.5 )
EmergencyResVolumeMultiplier ( 1.461 )
MaxReleaseRate( 5.5 )
MaxApplicationRate( 5.5 )
MaxAuxilaryChargingRate( 20 )
EmergencyResCapacity( "2.064*(ft^3)" )
EmergencyResChargingRate( 0.23 )

AirBrakesMainResVolume( 10.5 )

EngineBrakesControllerMinPressureReduction( 6 )
TrainBrakesControllerMinPressureReduction( 6 )
EngineBrakesControllerHasProportionalBrake( 1 )
EngineBrakesProportionalBrakeLag( 0.85 )
EngineBrakesControllerMaxApplicationRate( 20 )
TrainBrakesControllerMaxApplicationRate( 5.5 )
EngineBrakesControllerMaxReleaseRate( 13.5 )
TrainBrakesControllerMaxReleaseRate( 4 )
EngineBrakesControllerEmergencyApplicationRate( 8 )
TrainBrakesControllerEmergencyApplicationRate( 7 )
EngineBrakesControllerMinSystemPressure( 15 )
TrainBrakesControllerMinSystemPressure( 15 )
EngineBrakesControllerMaxSystemPressure( 90 )
TrainBrakesControllerMaxSystemPressure( 90 )
EngineBrakesControllerEmergencyBrakeTimePenalty( 60 )
TrainBrakesControllerEmergencyBrakeTimePenalty( 60 )
EngineBrakesControllerFullServicePressureDrop( 26 )
TrainBrakesControllerFullServicePressureDrop( 26 )
EngineBrakesControllerDirectControlExponent( 1 )

Freight car :

TripleValveRatio ( 2.5 )
MaxReleaseRate ( 7.5 )
MaxApplicationRate ( 7.5 )
MaxAuxilaryChargingRate ( 20.0 )
EmergencyResCapacity ( "1.5*(ft^3)" )
EmergencyResChargingRate ( 20.0 )

Brake charging rate set on 50

Now I'm happy and I'm going shunting :D

I don't know if this has been already mentioned before, so please bear with me:

My idea is for a player-adjustable feed valve. This way you can set the feed valve for "freight" or "Passenger" train-line pressures without having to muck around in the .eng file.

This allows you to recreate, for example, scenes where Amtrak trains are lead by what would otherwise be a freight locomotive from the route's host railroad. Previously, to allow this kind of flexibility, one had to create essentially two .eng files for the same loco--one with "passenger" brakes and one with freight.

Hey, if you click anywhere on the train separation, so this error appears. Please examine the version of the X3634, whether free of defects in brake calculations.

Please refer to this thread for info on this particular problem.

Hello
I have a question and a request to the creator of the OR.
It would be possible to create a new function for the brakes?

New write:
TrainBrakesControllerDischargeReleaseStart )

He would like the same behavior, but he'd be set in ENG with new parameters

TrainBrakesControllerFullQuickReleaseStart )

----------------------------------------------------------------
TrainBrakesControllerDischargeReleaseStart ) --- new write - After releasing a slower train than the original
TrainBrakesControllerFullQuickReleaseStart ) --- original - releases the set quickly and completely

----------------------------------------------------------------

Notch ( 0 0 TrainBrakesControllerFullQuickReleaseStart )
Notch ( 0.3 0 TrainBrakesControllerDischargeReleaseStart )
Notch ( 0.4 0 TrainBrakesControllerNeutralhandleOffStart )
Notch ( 0.5 0 TrainBrakesControllerReleaseStart )
Notch ( 0.6 0 TrainBrakesControllerNeutralhandleOffStart )
Notch ( 0.8 0 TrainBrakesControllerContinuousServiceStart )
Notch ( 0.95 0 TrainBrakesControllerEmergencyStart )

I have downloaded the release ORTS 1.2.

As far as I've read, you have only to place this rule "TrainPipeLeakRate ( 0.0833 )" in the locomotive .eng file, in "engine section".
And this "leak value" is fixed, independent of type of wagons or length of the train.

My last used brake settings:

Brake_Train ( 0 1 0.01 0.25
NumNotches ( 6
Notch ( 0.0 0 TrainBrakesControllerReleaseStart )
Notch ( 0.2 0 TrainBrakesControllerRunningStart )
Notch ( 0.3 0 TrainBrakesControllerNeutralhandleOffStart ) or (TrainBrakesControllerHoldLappedStart)
Notch ( 0.4 1 TrainBrakesControllerApplyStart )
Notch ( 0.8 0 TrainBrakesControllerFullServiceStart )
Notch ( 1.0 0 TrainBrakesControllerEmergencyStart )
)
)

Tried also different brake settings, but I do not see any leaks?
At least, I expect that if the brake to "HoldStart" or "NeutralhandleOffStart", the brake pipe pressure drops slowly. Is this correct?
However, already done two tests with 30-40 minutes waiting, (and also with a high "leak value"), nothing happens........

Are there any other settings that may affect it?

Roger

It will always leak, but normally the reservoir makes up the difference.

It will only decrease air brake pipe pressure if the brake controller is in the "LAP" position. Does the HUD show the brake is in the LAP position?

Only if I "NeutralhandleOffStart" change to "HoldStart". But this does not work, always "air out" with or without leakage settings.
This is correct because "HoldStart" is not in a properly follow orders, so under "RunningStart". (See page 6 in this post, # 57)

The only "HUD = (Self) LAP" between running and Apply is "SelfLapStart", but also does not work.
Even if I give an absurd value of Train Pipe Leak rate = 25

My conclusion so that the train pipe leak at 1.2.3766 (no longer) works?

Can someone test this and if it works, send a .ENG file? 'm Very curious what the differences are.

What type of air brake controller are you trying to model?

Thanks

Actually a (German) Knorr braking system. But I think almost equivalent to a Westinghouse.

(1) Release (Air from main reservoir to brake pipe), (2) Running (brake pipe maintained pressure), (3) Hold (closed, so possible notice lekage in brake pipe) and then (4-6) Braking, manually little air let out, back to Hold, etc. (Apply and Emergency)

The brake pipe leakage of the train you should notice in the "Hold / Neutral" position.
After my opinion also in the "TrainBrakesControllerNeutralhandleOffStart" ?
