As a small contribution towards release 1.2, I have this ready (it is a requirement for 1.2).

If there is agreement, I can upload it.

Good. Could the confirmation also include the car number? Something like this: [Car 0-3 front angler cock closed]
Additionally, could the 'Hot' spot for selecting the menu items (or the menu itself) be made a bit larger?

regards,
vince

Carlo, your list is about 80% of what a man on the ground would be doing (we call these guys brakemen. They used to walk the top of the cars setting hand brakes but most of the the time they were on the ground working the car couplers).

Would you consider adding Uncouple? Or perhaps "Release Coupler" might be more correct.

"Throw Switch" would also make good sense, tho it's not exactly about cars and of course once you consider that task another closely related tasks jump right in with "Toggle Switch Lock" which is AFAIK an unimplemented idea related to the manual operation in Signalling, essentially saying I want to go manual w/ this switch and will stay manual until I lock it again.

There is more long term stuff (I'll probably send you a PM) but for a quick feature add this looks very nice.

Oh a question too: What is the sequence of mousing to match car to the selected command in your window? Car end first or command then car end?

Vince and Dave, thank you.
Vince,
I think that having this window, provided with Car ID info, on, it is no more needed to have the car ID added to the confirmation message.
Re the dimension of the "active" area for the mouse, both code and some test shows that the area coincides with the whole rectangle where the related command string is contained.

Dave,
this window is already operating in OR. The only thing I added is the Car ID info, as required by a Trello item. To get this window opened you click on the car you desire in the Train Operations Window (the one you activate with F9).

Carlo,

Would the length be any longer you are showing above. I remember updating the activity window many versions ago because it was either the car ID or another item that was not fitting right because the overall length made it difficult to format properly.

Hi Edward,
the space available for the Car ID is more or less the same as in the Train Operations Window. So, if the latter hasn't lead to complaints up to today, the same applies for the Car Operations Window.

Very good addition. Thank you.

May I make a user interface suggestion?

The options would be easier to understand, I believe if the first header was bold (to separate it from the choices available and to visually show that it is the header)
I would also suggest combining the first two lines so that it is "Car 0 - 3 Operation Menu" -- That would separate the choices from the information, visually and save a line - less lines are easier for the brain to quickly understand.

Christopher

Hi Chris,
I can agree on both your points, but:
1)I must respect a general "look and feel" of the OR pop-up windows, and this does not foresee a bold for the first line;
2)I wanted to have in a single line the title and the car ID but, if you believe it or not, I found programming problems :)
