I already solved the problem. I was following the instructions the author gave in his readme, and he forgot to specify putting the .s file inside of SHAPES folder in GLOBAL. I had the .s file placed incorrectly. Very dumb mistake, I know. Despite the readme not being 100% clear about the correct file placement, probably I should have thought of doing this before. Thanks CSantucci.

Come on, it hurt. I went with the Openrails folder like this. It was not described that the turntable only works if turntables.dat is in the Openrails folder.

Has anyone any ideas on how we can simulate this in Open Rails?

I have a selection of turntable sounds I recorded from our own electric table in my town and originally intended to be used in a friends Roblox game but he chose not to use them.
The sounds include the sound of locking levers, power handle, motor and rolling. If there's interest these sounds can be renamed and used for coding a more advanced turntable.sms file. The sounds are free to use in Open Rails without my permission.

A demo of the sounds in order: spak - reglage - motor start - motor1 - rulla - motor stop - spak

Hi David,
This is from the OR Manual (Section 7.7) :

Quote

It is also possible to rotate or translate standalone wagons. They have to be pushed or pulled to the
turntable or transfertable, the locomotive must exit the turntable or transfertable and the wagon can be
rotated or translated. It is suggested to read also this paragraph to better understand what is possible with
turntables and transfertables

To get the wagons to move on and off the turntable, perhaps a low powered invisible loco could be used, which could be on the turntable with the wagon, or are they taboo in Open Rails?

It's only an idea - I'm sure you'll get some much better solutions :)

Cheers,
Ged

A feature which was missing in operational turntables and transfertables, that was sometimes requested, is a synchronized operation in Multiplayer mode. This is now working on my computer and is foreseen in next ORNYMG release as well as in the Unstable release, after generation of the blueprint and positive review of the PR.
Here two screenshots showing the synchronized operation. It is even possible that one player moves his locomotive to the turntable, and another player rotates turntable and locomotive.

Oooooh, that's cool. Hopefully when I can get more friends playing OR we can use this function.

Best regards
