Between Testing X3504 and X3507 Chuff sounds on loco's with sounds based on Brandon's (ATSF3751) Sound Sets
have stopped working. These are some of the VERY best Steam Sounds available and are used on some of the best
Steam Locomotives created by the likes of Derek Miller and Tim Muir. I have attached Log Files for x3504 and x3507.
This is the only difference I see between the 2 files: " Warning: When expecting a number, we found a ) marker. Using
the default 1 in F:\1SimUtils\Train Simulator\trains\trainset\NP_F-1_2-8-0\NP_F-1Tender_53.wag:line 6" I have checked
the tender .WAG file and found no errors in Line 6 or any other lines. Any Ideas, anyone?

Paul

It's the freight animation call. OR expects to find 3 numbers between the parentheses after the F/A call line FreightAnim ( np53parts.s 1 1 '1' )

Don't know why this would effect the sounds unless it in effect hides that last parentheses and throws off the count through the rest of the file?

Hi,

The loss of chuff seems to be across all steamers. Using X-3510, tried several routes with several steamers having various sound sources and no chuffs.

This bug was created in version x3502. When is advanced adhesion model enabled variable 1 doesn´t work. Variable 1 is still zero.
Variable 2 is dependent on tractive effort. Is this correct?
When is advanced adhesion model disabled variable 1 work good. Variable 2 is dependent at the opening of the regulator and reverser.

Those sms files that use Variable1 do not work with the new adhesion introduced for steam locomotives, but those that use Speed instead of variable1 do work properly.

It appears that not all sound files which do "steam chuffs" use variable1, so in some instances it will still work.

#3511 should now allow variable 1 to work again.

Peter,
I have looked at your patch. With this patch the chuff frequency is linked to real speed; so, if there is an abrupt wheelslip, the chuff frequency remains the same. Instead, it should be increased because the chuff frequency is related to the rotation speed of the wheels, which is proportional to the real speed only if there is no wheelslip.

Yes, X3511 has returned proper chuffing sounds. A big THANK YOU to all that replied and especially
to Peter, steamer_ctn, all of the hard work and innovation he brings to the Steam Code! I do not know
if anything can be done about it, but I believe that Carlo's suggestion is a good one.

Thanks again,
Paul

yes, I noticed that, but I wanted to get things up and going again.

I am hopeful of doing more tweaks to the adhesion model, but I need to get the physics and code clear in my mind.

Thanks

x4126 (27.04.18)

Thames - Trent Route v2, using default stock supplied with route and scenarios.

All steam loco's are missing all their external sounds.

Rail sounds and environmental sounds all function correctly.

Any fix please ?
