Some European electric engines give the following error: Throttle locked, release dynamic brake, then retry. Could someone tell me what causes this error and what to to about it? After releasing the dynamic brakes the error still pops up.

Thanks,
Rob

Not sure what blended means, but when I release dynamics brakes to 0% by using the , button I still get that message

The dynamic brake needs to show 'OFF'. If showing 0% to 100%, throttle is locked. Try pressing the , key again. If unsuccessful, it could be an ENG problem concerning the dynamic brake or controller entries.

Thanks

Thanks for your reply. Pressing the, again doesn't help. It doesn't go OFF. Do you know what to change in the ENG file to solve this?

Not without really looking at the ENG file. Can you post on here or PM me the file ?

I also had same problem after I upgraded to X3445. The problem was there with locomotive's having blended braking. This AFAIK, is not bug. If you let wait and release the brakes completely (or use Shift+; key for instant release) you can then use the throttle. IIRC below 5psi BC pressure you can USD the throttle.... :)

If the real life locomotive doesn't have blended braking you can go to line BrakesEngineControllers and cancel "Blended".
If instead it has blended braking check line DynamicBrakesDelayTimeBeforeEngaging. Usually in real life european electric locos this time is equal to 0. So, if in the above line you have a value greater than 0, replace such value with a 0.

Thank you! Cancelling the "Blended" item did it. I just managed to adjust this in one engine but suppose it goes for all engines with this problem.

Thanks for offering your help. It seems to be a small adjustment in the ENG file to solve this.

Kind regards,
Rob

Why don't you just release the trainbrake? That's what keeps dynamic brake on when "blended" braking is enabled.
