Surfliner 2 Retexturing Giving a favorite route a new look

Hello All!
As a few of you might be aware, I'm in the process of updating many of the textures in Jeff Farquhar's Surfliner 2 route. Some of the object textures have only been tweaked (adjusted color balance, removed noise, etc), while others have been completely replaced with my own work. This includes all new terrain textures being created with Mosaic. As for the latter, it's obviously a slow process with such a large and detailed route. I started in San Luis Obispo and have been working steadily southward, and I'm currently around Oxnard (I estimate I'm about halfway done with the route's terrtex).
I've created this new thread to share my progress. It's a very slow, tedious process that I'm intentionally not spending too much of my free time on to avoid burnout (and marital issues from spending too much time staring at the computer http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif), so my updates will likely be few and far between. Besides, this is a hobby and labor of love, so no deadlines here! http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif
Below are a few of the nicer screenshots I've taken so far. A few of these are duplicates that I've already posted in other threads here at ET, but I wanted to consolidate the shots from this particular project here. From time to time, I'll try to post some new shots of this project here as I go along.

Hope it won't need a full download of the entire route again. Just the necessary files to make that scenery update. Looks great keep up the great work.
That Sprinter is not at the home tracks. :p I don't think you'll ever see the actual Sprinter in the actual Surfliner tracks except the ones that are closest to its home.

Quite right, I plan to eventually release only the updated scenery files, although the new terrtex textures are a bit sizable by themselves. Once I compress them all to DXT1, that should help things a bit, but unfortunately all those unique textures will still take up some space no matter what, so stay tuned!

Shhh! I was hoping no one would notice! LOL! http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/blush2.gif Actually, I just got in the habit of using the Sprinter to check scenery along the ROW since it has easy, on-handed controls (so I can use the mouse to look around with the other hand) and can start/stop on a dime. It'll eventually make its way southward to home territory!

That water at Rocky Coast looks good enough to swim in! :good:

Looking sharp! Let me know if you'd like any of my terrain grinds when you get further south--I have one set aside for riparian terrain that I used on the Salinas Valley route, but it looks right at home in Sorrento Valley.
Also when you get to texturing the Laguna Niguel area, I'd use Jean Brisson's MGS Light Grass texture available in the USA Vegetation 02 pack.

This is absolutely amazing work! :good2: This is a fantastic improvement to the original release from 2012 and I'm looking forward to it's release. I am curious though, will you be doing anything to the northern portion? Once again

Found the file in the FL that contains the MGS_Grass texture I use for greenbelts / windward slopes-- it's in the File Library.
...aaaaand also, here's the riparian / mudflat texture!

I'm hoping the scenic files will work with the Surfliner V1.2 as I never did get Surfliner 2 downloaded. I also just am not interested in that portion of the line.
I did install the updated Surfliner platform textures from right here at ET and was impressed with the changes that doing so made to the route.
