Open Rails comes with a variety of useful documentation, most specifically the manual itself, but provides no access to them from the menu. The installer drops a link to the manual in to the Start Menu but that's all. I believe a button similar to the existing "Tools" drop-down button that listed the available documentation would be useful to people, particularly those using the Testing builds (which come with documentation but not installers).

James,

If you do not mind, I would definitely volunteer for this.

Might this be an opportunity to try out the optional html broadcast feature (e.g., display to a handheld device)?

I suggest to insert provisions for multilingual documentation (e.g. if there is a german version of the manual and if german has been selected as OR language, the german version of the manual is displayed).

I just completed the basis of the work. The button operation that I copied is the Tools button. I created a Documents folder under the program folder and I have been testing with pdf files. As far as other file formats, I would have to assume that the doc format will also be included. I am not sure how much further we want to take this concept, but what I am testing now is working well. I just need to make sure that the Documents naming convention for the folder is fine or should this be changed?

Edit: As it is now, any pdf file or doc file that is in the Documents folder will be part of the button selection.
