Hi

Although OR supports the EP brake, i cannot get the brake to partially release.

I have this in the brake type : brakesystemType( "EP" )

and this in the controller section : Notch ( 0.10 1 TrainBrakesControllerEPApplyStart )

The EP brake functions 100% in self lapping in applying, with air reduction from the main res pipe and with the brake pipe staying at its max setting.

According to the Extended HUD Brake page, the EP brake status remains in the lap position when moving the brake handle back for a partial release.

It appears partially release for the EP brake may have been left out!

Can someone please confirm this ?

Thanks

What are all of the settings you are using for the EP brake?. Do you have the Graduated Release box in Options ticked?.

Yes, that option is ticked. OR will only read the EP function from the brake type token and train brake controller token, both showing EP.

Thanks

I do not use the EP tokens, just normal brake ones. replacing the TripleValve with the Distributor gives EP brake behaviour. If you go back to the other thread you will see that EP is not present in the controllers or anywhere else. I think the EP brake code is not right because looking at it, it calls for the Triple valve while the Distributor is linked to Air Twin Pipe but EP is a single pipe system.

Okay. I just need someone to confirm my readings using the EP brake, because this looks like a bug.

Thanks

Sorry, is anyone else experiencing this problem? I just need to know if it's a core issue or a mistake on my behalf!

Thanks

I must be the only one using/testing the EP brake token?

Anyway, a member over at train-sim.com, has confirmed, that there is no graduated release when using EP as the
"BrakeSystemType" The graduated release option is ticked, under the "general" options page!

Thanks

You're not the only one, EP partial release simply not works.

As has been explained over at TS.com, the missing item is an air pipe in the eng file. No brake system in the world, except electric brakes will work without a pipe connecting the parts of the system. I have a set using EP_single_pipe which gives any brake pressure required, and will partially release and reset as the handle is moved.

What does not seem to be coded are the names of the notches used in an EP system. So one has to use normal air brake tokens in the controller.

Okay, to clear this up. Can you please post your complete brake settings and brake controller for your EP brake setup. I have a hunch, we are going about thing's in different directions.

Thanks
